About Me
I'm a Humanistic counsellor, meaning that I treat each person as an unique individual, capable of growth, understanding and change. I work to support people in better understanding how the events of their lives shape their current experience of the world and look to explore how they can find the strength and resources to change or improve their situation. I'm interested in the meaning people make of the significant moments in their lives, and how it is possible to create new meanings which better serve us for the future.

I am a Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I have specific training in anxiety, depression and low mood, grief and bereavement, suicide and LGBTQIA+ issues. I am dedicated to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for all individuals.

Having a background in the arts enriches my counseling practice by offering a unique perspective on human experience and expression. The creative process is deeply intertwined with emotional expression and self-discovery, and draws on skills such as empathy, active listening, and an appreciation for diverse perspectives—all of which are essential in therapy. This experience helps me understand and connect with clients who have creative or unconventional ways of viewing the world. It also enables me to appreciate the nuanced and complex emotions clients may bring to sessions, and to support them in exploring their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors with openness and curiosity.

I offer a half price initial consultation where I will hope to explore what has brought you to counselling, as well as offer you information about how I work and what to expect from our sessions together. We can then assess whether we are the right fit for one another. Thereafter, my rate is £60 per session. I am based at Burgess Hill Chiropractic Clinic. There is free parking and step free access.

My Approach
In our sessions, I offer warmth, non-judgment, and compassion in a safe and confidential environment, where you decide the pace and depth of our discussions. I aim to come alongside you on your journey, ensuring you feel truly heard and understood. Our time together is a collaborative process, offering you the opportunity to explore the actions or ways of thinking that may no longer serve you.
Reaching out for help can be daunting. The idea of opening up to a stranger might feel overwhelming. Yet, speaking with a counsellor can be incredibly beneficial. Together, we can build an understanding of why you feel the way you do, explore your reactions to particular situations, and identify choices that empower you to move forward.
